First Impressions: Juvia's Place

Beauty Bay have recently began to stock Juvia's Place, which is a cruelty free brand I've been dying to try! I loved the look of their palettes, from the packaging to the shades themselves. I was torn between the Masquerade palette and the Saharan Palette as I loved the shades in those compared to the others. In the end, I went for the masquerade palette which has a nice mixture of bright colours and natural/warm shades. I don't own any decent palettes with bright colours, so I think this palette is the perfect way for me to try something different whilst also getting some shades that are more wearable. I think Juvia's Place palettes are ones that you use alongside others, it's sort of an assortment of amazing and different shades compared to my natural mattes.

The palette itself is cardboard, feels very strong and has a nice weight to it. The cover is a bright pink shade with yellow inside. I love the design on the front too, which also features inside without the faded women behind. I love the colour combos in these palettes, they're very eye catching without coming across as tacky. I should mention there isn't a mirror inside which i know a lot of people prefer, I'm not too fussed as I end up using my own mirror most of the time anyway. The packaging is just very sleek and feels nice, it also doesn't leave finger marks which is always good. This is a mini version but is still a regular size so I can only imagine how big the original is!

As I previously mentioned, the shades are a variety of bright colours and warm shades. There are 10 shimmers and 6 mattes, the shimmers are so pigmented! There's a good selection of shades. It's almost like a collection of that one shade you find in palettes that are so out there and different to the rest. Giza is an amazing highlight shade which I've been using on my inner corner. Bori is also a great shade to mention, which is one of the bright shades, it's a pink which hints of gold shimmer. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of the bottom 8 shades at least, though I have been using Zobo and Calabar a bit more. I can't wait to try and incorporate the top four shades though! If you have any tutorials, please send them to me as I'd love to try them out!

Juvia's Place is very affordable, compared to most 'high end' palettes. They're all £28 on Beauty Bay. If you're someone that doesn't really go for high end palettes, I would still try to tempt you with this as it's not as expensive as a lot of hyped palettes out there. It would be worth it as there are so many different shades you could experiment with or it could be a palette you use for special occasions/festivals. It's currently out of stock but there are other palettes you can take a look at!

Would this be something you'd try out? And if you have, I'd love to know your thoughts!
